Tim Le Nevez has joined Strategic Management Australia to head its rugby division.
Tim has enjoyed a successful Rugby career for various teams that has given him the opportunity to incorporate his travel and sport.
Tim’s International 15+year career has included, Australian caps for the Under 16, 19, and 21 and Sevens teams, he was also a squad member of the ‘all conquering’ Brumbies team from 1999 – 2003. The latter half of Tim’s career saw him play in France with Auch, then spent 5 years in Japan at NTT Communications before a brief stint with New York Athletic Club in NYC.
Tim brings a wealth of knowledge to the SMA group, utilizing his commerce degree to effectively assist our players with contract negotiations, marketing and endorsement proposals and strategic planning for life after football. Tim also brings with him a wealth of contacts both here in Super Rugby and internationally through his time abroad.
Tim’s ability to speak fluent Japanese and French provides numerous benefits when mentoring National and International talent and has already represented, translated and negotiated for numerous players whilst playing abroad.
Tim has returned to Australia with a vision to assist both aspiring and established players, with all aspects of management and mentoring, utilizing SMA’s various financial and management experts to offer the best outcomes for players to allow them maximize their time in sport, whilst making sure they are structured properly once they have retired from the game.
Tell me a bit about yourself...
What are your interests outside of work? I am a passionate Surfer and also love to travel. I am Married to a Hawaiian so that fits in well with visiting the in laws during holidays.
What is your favourite holiday destination? Hawaii great people great waves, Bali, good cheap food and shopping, and great surf.
What is your favourite book? Probably a toss up between Salt : A World History by Mark Kurlansky or Vanity Fair by William Thackeray.
If you could invite 6 people for dinner, living or historical, who would they be? My Brother Matt, my Wife Tif, My son Nainoa they are all my closest friends. Mark Occhilupo because surfing legend and enigma. Karl Marx to listen to his views on the world he envisioned and the world we live in today, and Che Guevara for his passion and conviction.
